History: The Medabots wiki is kind of terrible so here's a quick, lovingly written summary for you guys. Medabots is basically pokemon, but instead of pokemon you have tiny robots, each with a unique 'medal' that stores their memory and personality which is inserted in different models and medaparts you can buy from the store. The medabot equivalent of a pokemon trainer is a medafighter, who control their medabots using a special watch in order to win robattles. Official robattles are used to determine a medafighter's world ranking.
Metabee is an outmoded model that his medafighter Ikki bought at a discount. He found Metabee's medal in a river, so when Metabee first activated and turned out to be an obstinate, uncooperative medabot it was generally accepted that he must be defective. However, it turned out that Metabee actually possessed a 'rare medal', which were known to have special abilities and characteristics. This made Metabee the prime target of the notorious but bumbling villianous organization who collected rare medals. Metabee's independence combined with Ikki's encyclopaedic knowledge of medabots and knack for strategy allowed them to quickly rise through the world rankings to become the third best in Japan. Despite constantly butting heads and an initially volatile relationship, the two eventually became inseparable friends.
During the World Robattle Tournament, a new rule was established stating the losing team had to forfeit their medal to the winner. This was extremely controversial since the medal is the heart of soul of the medabot, and Ikki and Metabee fought hard to make it to the finals. As the tournament continued, the two learned of the Ten Days of Darkness which occurred during the last tournament 8 years prior, when the battle between two rare medals caused all medabots to go on a world wide rampage for ten days. At the final match the same event began to occur, as the world tournament was being run by the previously mentioned organization wanting to conquer the world.
Before all the medabots went crazy, Metabee had a vision of a previous life. Ages prior, medabots came to earth as conquerers and established a utopia. Their culture valued strength above all else, and instigated grand battles to determine who was the strongest. Their obsession with fighting eventually led to the destruction of their civilization as medabots turned against each other. Those who survived stored their consciousness in medals, which would eventually become the rare medals, used as a template for those that came later when humans reverse engineered medabot technology. With Ikki's help, Metabee was able to stop the other medabots from losing control, reminded of what happened in their past.
Here's the wiki if you really want to check it out.
Personality:
While most medabots are programmed to be unquestionably obedient to their medafighter, Metabee is unusual in that he is very independent. He has a strong personality and has a problem being subservient to anyone, and insists on being treated as an equal. Trying to get Metabee to do something he doesn’t want to is like pulling teeth, and he can be very lazy when it comes to things that he is not directly interested in. The best way to get Metabee to do what you want is to frame it as a challenge. He will do just about everything he can to avoid doing extraneous work, and if he is coerced into something he will complain about it the whole time.
On top of having a huge ego, Metabee can be very boastful and arrogant. He is often distracted by praise, and any compliments will go directly to his head. He takes insults very personally, and is easily flustered and outraged. It does not take much to aggravate him. Metabee is very reactive, and often respond in an over-the-top fashion, usually violently. Staying calm and strategizing are certainly not among his strengths. He has very little patience and is quick to make decisions and jump to conclusions. Metabee is quick to judge people, and it takes a lot of work to sway his opinion.
Metabee is extremely talkative and social. He likes to be around people and involved in other people’s lives, and he loves to be the center of attention. He has a tendency to commentate on everything, even if it just winds up being him talking to himself. Metabee does not really have a filter and says whatever is on his mind at any time. Metabee has a strong sense of humor, and is almost always making a joke, even if they aren’t always good ones. Metabee will frequently poke fun at his friends, and is more likely to insult someone then compliment them.
Though he may not always show it, Metabee cares deeply about his friends. He will often surprise others by being one of the first to step in to help when a friend is in need. Whether it’s offering to help them improve, offering a motivational word, or coming up with elaborate schemes to try and help, Metabee does his best to keep all his friends happy. While his methods of helping aren’t always the best, his heart is always in the right place. Metabee truly wants all his friends to reach their highest potential, and will do whatever he can to make sure that happens. Even when he is being flippant or jokingly insulting his friends, he is incredibly loyal and will never turn his back on a friend.
Metabee is extremely competitive, especially when it comes to robattles and combat. Once he has committed to something, he will never back down, no matter the odds and is willing to risk everything to succeed. He prides himself on his skills as a fighter and physical ability, and the quickest way to earn his respect is to match or surpass his own ability in a fight. He likes to surround himself with people as driven and determined as he is. While he is overconfident and headstrong, Metabee is genuinely driven to improve himself and his abilities, and will seek out anyone who can help him achieve his goals. When someone proves themselves to be his superior, Metabee will revere them as a mentor or role model, trying to learn from them in order to improve. It is by far the quickest way to earn his respect. While it can take some work to earn his respect, once you have it Metabee will stand by you no matter what.
Abilities/Skills: Almost all medabots are specifically designed for combat, and Metabee is no exception. He an excellent fighter, and can hold his own in close range combat but his real specialty is shooting and projectile weapons. Metabee's signature Seeker Missiles launch from his 'horns', a pair of heat seeking missiles that he can also fire at locked targets. Both his arms are equipped with semi-automatic Laser Cannons that fire gatling-like laser rounds. Metabee is also able to channel a mysterious energy known as the Medaforce, allowing him to fire a powerful energy blast from his arm cannons, but doing so depletes his energy levels.
Metabee is a robot and therefore benefits from all the quintessential robotic qualities, including increased durability, not needing food, additional strength, and implied space survivability. Metabee gets energy from his medal, but with a finite battery supply it takes time for him to recharge once he's used it up (he's in the habit of recharging on a human 'sleep' schedule). His limbs are interchangeable with other 'medaparts,' allowing him to swap for specialty parts when needed (if they're available).
Strengths/Weaknesses: Excellent firing accuracy, fighting ability, and is innately skilled with projectile weaponry. Metabee will never back down from anything, even if his life is at risk, which can be either good or bad depending on the situation. He is very selective about activities he is or is not willing to complete, if he's not interested he will usually flat out refuse to do it.
Metabee is very small (approximately 3 ft without his 'horns'), is afraid of water, and can't swim without specialized parts. Metabee's personality, memories, and AI are tied directly to the small medal located behind a panel in his back. If it is removed, Metabee's body will lose all functionality, essentially separating his soul from his body.

Yo!
As cool as space is and as much as I love being kidnapped by creepy alien people, who's got the scoop on how to get back to Earth?
I need to get back to my medafighter ASAP. He's like a lost puppy without me, probably wandering around the city, bawling his eyes out. [ Metabee shrugged. Sometimes your medafighter is an overemotional mess. What can you do?]
Now I'll bet at least one of you has got a plan to get off this hunk of junk, and I want in. So what if the captains said there was no way back unless we worked for them. I'm not gonna wait around and let these aliens tell me what to do. That ain't Metabee's style. So if you want the help of the best medabot on the ship, send me a message on this weird medawatch thing, or whatever it is. Metabee out.
